Cleaning and Maintenance Tips

Now that you've experienced the beauty and tradition of Andean wool, it's important to know about care and preservation. Follow these simple maintenance tips to ensure that your blanket or poncho keeps you comfy for many seasons!

1. Gentle Cleaning: To keep your Andean wool blanket or poncho in pristine condition, spot clean only when needed. Use a mild detergent and lukewarm water to gently blot and clean any stains. Avoid rubbing or scrubbing, as this can damage the delicate fibers.

2. Proper Storage: When not in use, store your blanket or poncho in a cool, dry place. Consider using cedar blocks or scented sachets while stored.

3. Hand or Machine Wash: You can hand wash or machine wash your blanket or poncho. 

Machine Wash: Use cool to luke-warm water. Avoid using hot water or bleach.

Place Ponchos in large garment bag or large pillow case. wash and spin in gentle cycle for limited time.

-- We recommend Hand Washing Ponchos in a Mild Detergent. (Just like you would wash a favorite sweater) Dry flat on-top of a large towel / hang dry wherever available. Use a Garment Steamer on occasion to help reshape and correct any possible wrinkles.

4. Drying Blankets: After a spin in the washer, we recommend you hang-dry blankets. You can also reshape a blanket while it's damp. Blankets can be placed alone in the dryer, and at a low-temperature to rejuvenate. 

Do not put ponchos in the dryer.
